We publish figures about real police forces, so being reachable is part of the job. Corrections come first and we act on them.
Correct a figure
If anything here is wrong, out of date or unfairly presented, tell us. Include the page address and what you say is wrong. We check it against the source and correct or remove it where the point is made out, whoever raises it, including a police force or an oversight body writing about its own numbers.

Press and data enquiries
Every figure on this site is computed from published datasets and we will show our working: the source file, the period, the denominator and the code path. If you want a cut of the data we have not published, or the underlying numbers behind a chart, ask. We do not charge journalists or researchers for it.

Complaints about us, rather than about the police, go through our complaints procedure.
What we cannot do
We are not a police force, an oversight body or a law firm, and we are not able to act on an individual case.
- We cannot take your complaint about the police. Emailing us does not start any official process, and it does not stop a deadline running. The routes that do are set out for the United Kingdom and the United States.
- We cannot give legal advice or tell you whether you have a claim. Everything here is general information. Time limits are strict and some are short, so take advice from a qualified lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction rather than waiting on us.
- We cannot investigate an officer, obtain body-worn video, or contact a force on your behalf.
- Please do not send us evidence or personal details. We do not need them and we would rather not hold them. If you write to us about your own case, keep it to what you need us to answer.
